Renault is of the more successful mainstream manufacturers in Formula 1, having won back-to-back constructors titles in 2005 and '06. We look back all the F1 cars from the French maker.
The outlandish design of the P34—it drew gasps from the crowd when it was unveiled—had its share of success. During the 1976 season, it earned 10 podium finishes, and Elf Tyrrell's two drivers, Jody Scheckter and Patrick Depailler, earned a 1-2 finish at the Swedish Grand Prix. The team took third place in the Constructors' Championship.
Problem was, the P34 wasn't especially good at finishing races, and in F1, reliability is a big deal.
